Two attorneys at Fragomen definitely went beyond call of duty for me on two separate occasions.
My prior comments stand:
1) Felt like object when employer contracted them.
2) Much better service when I contracted them directly.
Expensive.
It will depend on which attorney and paralegal you get.
Over 8 years, I've got through several paralegals there.
Some were great (but expensive), others were not.
In my job, software, some engineers are great, some are idiots (thankfully I don't work directly with any - incase boss is reading), and many are average (by definition). Same I am sure applies in most fields.
If you get a bad one from a big firm, and either complain (if you are the customer) and nothing happens, or you get two bad ones in a row from a big firm, then yes the big firm may be reasonably characterized as bad. However, if you have only had one attorney with a big firm then it may be unfair to characterize the firm based on that one attorney.

i read somewere spillover go in july. perchance i thinking that spillover go to eb2 while i am eb3 waiting. what chance now for spillover for eb3 getting some?

Lately the members of IV have come to know that Aman Kapoor, the co-founder of IV has sold his house and spent around $64000/- towards the administrative costs of IV. This too was brought to our attention from a regular member like you and me, without which this would not have come to our knowledge at all.
So some of the members have taken an initiative to reimburse Aman and other core IV team members with the expenses they have incurred so far towards the administrative costs of IV. Note that the time they have spent and the sufferings cannot be compensated. Let us do the least by atleast compensating the money. Please do not donate directly to IV funds.
There is a funding drive in this other thread towards reimbursing the administrative costs of IV.

Actually it is normal that PD will go back in year end. So october it should move forward. I think from 2000 to 2003 H1 was increased to 195k and that made the situation worse. Otherwise general waiting time is 3 to 5 years for Eb3 and 1 to 3 years for eb2. In all visas H1,L1 and F1 Indians are topping every year and increase of 20%. And most of the H1s are coming through consultancy companies and successfully surviving here. Obiviously that made gc waiting time too much.Also in India skilled people are increasing because of outsourcing. Infosys is recruiting 25k people in this year alone. May be total 5 lakh to 1million high tech people will be added in India job market this year and that will grow in future. Around 50k to 1 lakh people are expected to come here for student visa this year. Most of them are interested in getting gc. May be around 2 lakh to 3 lakh people are interested to come to USA from India every year. Including families 1 million people are interested in coming to USA.Add other countries. I do not think that much job growth will be there in USA. Interest rates and inflation are going up. May be job growth may slow down. In that case USA govt will see if it is really useful to increase immigration. Of course they need exceptional people. But not lakhes of people every year. We are not seeing big job growth like dot com period. Also anti immigrants are having their own reasons for preventing immigration. I think everything will be stablized with eb3 waiting time 5 years and eb2 2 years in future as lot of people will lose interest

I guess by the end of FY-11, EB2 cutoff will reach Dec 2006 or early 2007.. but movement from there on would be slow as many are started porting now.. In any case I don't there will be more than 10K porting per year.. If porting exceed more than 10K, EB2 progress will be slow.. Good luck to all

People probably don't have the faintest idea under what kind of financial strain these are. There will be exemptions for universities and non-profit organizations.

All I hear is "incorrect", "wrong" followed by individual interpretation or opinion. I respect all disagreement part, Which may be/not be accurate. Why don't you quantify your comments with references to law or CIS memo? Don't you think discussion need to be healthy and fair?

The H1B visa belongs, in effect, to the company that sponsors it. You cannot work for any other company on that visa other than sponsor. If this is a transfer, then, In a so-called "visa transfer" what actually happens is that the initial visa is cancelled in favor of another one issued for the new employer. What that means is OP's work with old employer is considered as "unauthorized work".

This is really a very disappointing news. However, now we all know clearly that our issues are closely related to illegal alliens. We are on the same boat as that of illegals. CIR will probably take forever to happen. Maybe 2 to 3 years if we are lucky. My PD is just 3 months away (China EB2). I guess my PD will become current within 2 to 3 years even without immigration reform. I would not put my hope on this immigration reform now. I will just plan to wait for 2 to 3 years. It's kind of a relief for me.

All I want to know is even today EB1 2008 gets his GC before 2001 EB3 and that is fair to everybody. But the minute EB2 got preference things have become unfair how is that?
There were simply two barriers put by CIS for EB GC one is EB Category (horizontal bar) and Country of birth (vertical bar) Now country of birth is something not in your hands where as EB category is something that you can change (acheive) its in your hands. Come one all of us if we study hard can qualify for EB1 but because of various reasons or circumstances we chose to be in EB2 or EB3 (people who crib about employers or any other reason know in their hearts that i they wanted to change they could have simply they decided to remain happy in what they got)
So instead of asking to mountain to come to mohammed people should take this news positively and see how they can benefit from it. The spill going to Eb3 ROW was not helping any one since there is no way one can change country of birth

I would like to share my story with other H4 hopefuls and immigration voice.
I came to this country 2 years back. I am well qualified and had an excellent job in Bangalore with more than 4 years of experience in HR. After coming here I have not been able to get an employer to sponsor H1B Visa mainly because my skills sets are not in high demand occupation like Computers/technology but in Human Resource Management. I passed the professional certifications in HR in USA within 6 months of landing here and did get a number of job offers but was unable to take them up because I do not have an EAD.
In fact even my old company in Bangalore where I worked offered me a position here in their office and job offer is still on -provided I have a employment authorization. They are not keen to sposor H1b visa as they consider it too much of a hassle for a non tech employee.Also with the visa cap there are many hurdles to get through to get the H1B visa. Meanwhile our LC is in the backlog center and we are unable to move forward. My husband has received MBA admissions in some top schools in USA. But he had to give it up because of the GC process which seems to have now come to a stand still. When people who has come here illegally (if the bill passes) can now work legally - we who has come here legally and has followed all the rules are not given a chance to contribute to the economy and better our quality of life.
we are not going to go back -our GC is in process - so why shouldnt we be given a change to work while we wait for years for the process to be through. I feel that I have already lost my most productive years where I could have steered my career to H4 Visa rules.
I request Immigration voice to work on the issue of H4 work authorization.

I dont know about others but for me Fragomen has been very responsive. I think its probably your employer that is dictating how the attorney should deal with their employees. I work for a big fortune 50 company and I always got email responses from my fragomen attorney within 24 hours...that works for me.
Some times employers dont want their employees to get eads too soon, as they might jump the ship using ac21, and hence takes the help attorney to delay the filing, which works well for some attorneys too.
