Becoming aware of what is holding back is what I am trying to achieve. When you have such awareness, you also have the ability to change.
The proof of the pudding is in eating. I beleive we have stopped HLGs and others from stealing unused EB3 visas exclusively for one retrogressed category.

Sure.. if you say so.. y didn't u say that earlier.. jeez
It's official guys, we ROWs only argue for the sake of our self servient morality or lack thereof, while all others are on a Utopian conquest of fairness..
Never mind, good luck to everyone and sorry for time wasted thinking we were having a conversation
Good bye :)
That's quite a dumb inference.
Dude, what's wrong in admitting a bit of selfishness here?
All of us want something in the end, and that's why we're here pooling our needs together. Nobody's asking you to be selfless.

Here I want to make clear, FIFO for taking labor applications and sending ad instructions not for approving. I know depending on compilcation of cases(I think), some cases with PD 2005 get approved fast and cases with PD 2003 are taking longer. I dont know why all these mess in DOL, for taking the labor applications and sending ad instructions.
No, I don't think it has anything to do with complication of cases. I know of the two different employees with the same employer with similar jobs/descriptions, one with PD 2005 approved and another with PD 2003 whose application hasn't even been taken for processing. So the behavior of the BEC just seems to be random and there seems to be no particular logic. Complication of the cases is definitely not one of the reasons as far as I know.

Being bitter does not get us anywhere..
There are only so many leaders who are willing to galvanize people. Most people are content to be followers or be in the sidelines..
Do not expect everyone to be in leadership roles.. As you might know from any meetings, lots of people RSVP but don't show up.. It is unfortunate but that is the truth in pretty much any type of meetings..
The Houston chapter is getting more action. Why don't we collaborate and talk together.. Remember, we don't need 100s of leaders.. We need 10 - 20 who can get the rest of the people moving..
Lets not lose hope and surely, lets not get bitter and angry. We all make sacrifices.. There is no way to compare one versus the other.. and comparing does not get us anywhere..
Lets not look for what other people can do for us.. lets look what we (be it 10 or 100 of us) can do for everyone else..
Most people in the forum will support and help us.. A few people will just read and be cynical.. some will be free riders.. we cannot change these..
What we can do is make a decision to drive change.. and work towards it..
Change will happen.. We just have to persist and believe..

in addition to the house republican leadership (Hastert, Boehner) and a couple other influential ones on immigration such as rep Sensenbrenner.
Majority of these sponsoring congressmen have a green (anti-immigration) rating, some of them having a green-red (mixed) rating. However, they're mostly red (pro-immigration) when it comes to h1-b or related skilled worker bills (this even includes sensenbrenner's votes!)..
I did all this search out of boredom, but more importantly to assuage my sinking heart. So it looks like with the sponsorship of 10 pro-skilled immigration republicans, and at least not-against-skilled immigration republican leadership, this represents a good sample of republican votes for the passage.
Question remains how and when this bill will make it to the congressional agenda now that the summer is here already.
I keep my fingers crossed.

I have another employer which I am working now with.
How likely is to get an approval (or an rfe for paystubs?) before 180 days.
I am eb3 row
Thanks, I am very depressed it took too long I guess and the economy changed and now the whole future of my family is pending

This time mostly bill will be passed in the senate. But no one knows how house will handle. If house also passes some form of CIR then Conference commitee will have power for synchronisation of house and Senate. That time some important provisions could be thrown out. Who will be in conference comittee?
as far as i know Reid is smart about this thats why hes using the "clay pigeon" manuevre where all the 24 amendments would be tied as one amendment and then voted to pass on, once its passed then the cloture vote will come in (without the individual amdts yet voted on) once the cloture vote is secured then they will have 30 hours to vote all the individual 24 amdts after whc a simple majority vote ( min 51 votes) wud be needed to clear the bill...real smart

I don't know about the gulf. But Singapore and other Asian countries, pay structure is different for different race and skin color. This happens even if you have GC or citizenship from US.
when I mentioned about the pay structure based on Citizenship, I did'nt mean about race or skin color. there is a legal bilateral agreement between US, Canada and certain western nations, that if their citizen are hired in Gulf countries then the starting salary range is different. As far as discrimination in Singapore or other Asian nation you're right, especially Singapore, Malaysia etc..
regards
kris

All I want to know is even today EB1 2008 gets his GC before 2001 EB3 and that is fair to everybody. But the minute EB2 got preference things have become unfair how is that?
There were simply two barriers put by CIS for EB GC one is EB Category (horizontal bar) and Country of birth (vertical bar) Now country of birth is something not in your hands where as EB category is something that you can change (acheive) its in your hands. Come one all of us if we study hard can qualify for EB1 but because of various reasons or circumstances we chose to be in EB2 or EB3 (people who crib about employers or any other reason know in their hearts that i they wanted to change they could have simply they decided to remain happy in what they got)
So instead of asking to mountain to come to mohammed people should take this news positively and see how they can benefit from it. The spill going to Eb3 ROW was not helping any one since there is no way one can change country of birth
Because qualification difference between EB2 and Eb1 is far >>> than qualification difference between Eb3 and Eb2.
I agree, EB3s should look at it positively and convert to Eb2 if they can

Campaign contribution is the lubricant oil of politics (all pun intended - big oil is the biggest contributor to both parties).
Strength of IV & the skilled immigrant community should translate to campaign dollars. If the skilled immigrant community is in powerful positions in big firms, they can influence company contributions. Same applies for companies (to be) founded by immigrants.
We need to put our money where our mouth is.

Is there a thing called Double Ban? If there is ban this self centered piece of crap again.
Most people showing their cool wisdom still not getting the point. A BEC person with Feb 2005 PD may not be able to file for another 2 years while a PD 2007 person will be enjoying EAD during that time. In my dictionary this is injustice. And that's why i was kinda happy when they updated the July bulletin, now I'm not really happy even if my company has already filed my 485/EAD on july 2. I'm still wishing (and i'll be honest) USCIS come up with a reason/regulation/rule that will delay EAD for everyone until BEC people are able to file 485 OR in Oct they retrogress only till March 2005.
P.S. if you are superstitious, you want to know this: most of my relatives/freinds call me "Black Tongue" because usually when i say something unpleasent it happens. e.g. i told my wife last month that i don't believe everyone is able to file 485, something will go wrong and everyone will be disappointed. (when everyone expects something it does not happen- contrarian theory)

dont be confused with "legal immigration", legal immigration in obama's world means family based immigration (vote bank politics) not EB immigration.
You are absolutely right. Check the following link on Obama's page concerning his stand on immigration.
http://www.barackobama.com/issues/immigration/
If he implements what he has been saying so far, this is what will happen:
- Strong measures to curb illegal immigration (with/without a fence)
- Amnesty to existing illegals in the country - claiming that the leak (above) has been fixed and that the illegals already in the country should be brought out from the shadows.
- Measures to speed up family based immigration - with papers being processed by the same department that works on EB immigration; slowing down EB processing further.
The only silver lining which people seem to hang on to is a politician's response to the state of highly skilled immigrants. Note that almost no one is against US educated legals from getting GCs and this is what Obama and McCain have been questioned about as far as legal immigration goes - obviously their answer is that they support us. That is a no-brainer. The controversy as far as legal immigration goes has to do with people without a US higher degree and no one really talks about that as far as legal immigration goes. But that doesn't mean the STEM bill will pass - no opposition doesn't mean it will translate to action for a group who has negligible voting power even if we eventually get it.
