I dont know about others but for me Fragomen has been very responsive. I think its probably your employer that is dictating how the attorney should deal with their employees. I work for a big fortune 50 company and I always got email responses from my fragomen attorney within 24 hours...that works for me.
Some times employers dont want their employees to get eads too soon, as they might jump the ship using ac21, and hence takes the help attorney to delay the filing, which works well for some attorneys too.

Experts,
I have done e-filing for my AP renewal. I read the instructions to see what documentation I need to mail,but I did not find any documentation specifically for e-filing. Does this mean that there is no need to send any documents? I heard USCIS will take picture during biometrics which is all they need. Can you please share your experiences on this. thanks a lot.

Copy of US driver�s license as evidence of a photo identity
Photocopy of I-797A (H1-B Approval Notice) as proof of current status
Photocopy of I485 Receipt notice
A letter with explanation demonstrating the circumstances that warrant issuance of Advance Parole.

I didn't find anywhere in the SKIL bill that says we can file I-485 even if the priority date is not current .Can somebody please point me to the paragraph where it is mentioned .

If existing members don't show the commitment to the meetings or whatever we organize, then how can we expect new members to do anything?

And anything more than 15 minutes late is just plain RUDE! Do we have to teach this?

I would like to clarify - anything beyond 0 minutes late is rude. I have a management position in my job, and if that happens at a meeting i'd set up professionally, they get a verbal lashing from yours truly.

First of all - THANK YOU. It's because of IV I am happy today with EAD cards on hand. I will never forget what IV did for me and thousands of GC applications in July. I can't forget the despair and the smiles IV brought back to our lives.
Probable reason - less motivated for couple of reasons which are already spelled out on this forum by others.
However I hoped to be part of rally towards the end. But couldn't. My parents came to USA last Friday. I did plan to combine my parents D.C tour with IV rally. But as such we happened to drop-in to D.C, unexpectedly, from Baltimore on Sunday itself. And on Tuesday 9/18 - all important day, we were busy packing to other attractions....

We were aghast and speech-less. So there was that burning-sensation in our tummies that took us to streets and greet the USCIS chief with bloody flowers!!
D.C rally has been strategic one. Somewhere in the beginning of the game, we pushed wrong buttons in marketing/selling the strategy or signing up people for the D.C rally. I remember very very few messages on the rally forums and tons and 100s of messages on "July 2" forum.
All senior fellows and the 1000+ members who made it to rally - have you surprised why there is NO 5000 - 10000 attendance.
Some more pointers to my thoughts -

Does any one has any Idea or back of the envelope calculation as to how many EB2 visas (for all countries) may be left for the remainder of FY'07?
The reason I am saying Eb2 all and not EB2 India, as most of the 485 applications filled in early July 485 were from India. Hence, given the new interpretation of visa overflow, almost all will be assigned to this category.

To be frank there was momemtum and energy missing in DC and other states before the rally! I think there are many ignorant, many not willing and many not up to giving a day!
Have we tried to educate them about their situation today ..
IF many of us have been able to file I485 in JULY then its 'coz of IV and ONLY IV!!
If we stress on IV's acheivements .. eg. flower campaign & San jose Rally and outcome of these..Reversal of Visa Bulletin then I think people will try to understand..
Tell you what people with PD in the last 2 yrs have not shown up in big numbers! Only with PD as late as 2001,02,03,04,05 have been able to evaluate the seriuosness of the whole GC thing & able to visualise the waiting frustrations!! Lets bring in more of the recent yrs PD people so that they know HOW LUCKY they are Just 'coz of IV!!
I think most of PD's with 05, 06, 07 got a chance to apply I-485 and may be they thought tht they got their GC by applying I-485. They are happy for tht and didnt really understand the seriousness of the situation. This is just my thought. [No offense on all ppl who attended the rally with PD 05, 06, 07]

This appears to be CIR politics. I listen to Rush Limbaugh radio program regularly during lunch time and for the first time today he said that perhaps there could be a bill. He gave some reasons why he thought like that and one of the reasons was dems, few GOP senators and President wants it.
I am afraid that though the dates are current, hardly few I485 petitions would be approved. But they might use this as a cover to pass all those provisions against us.

They are worse.. they do not respond quickly, never let you talk to attorneys directly.. have to go through the secretaries and to top all this they mess up the applications.. in short they suck!

The real reason people are treated badly at Indian Consulate is because there are Indians working there!!! Every where you go, the first thing an India sees is the skin color. I went to Atlanta to a sweet shop run by some Indians, there my 4 year old saw the water dispenser and asked for water, they had some use and throw paper cups and a steel cup tied to the water cooler (just like in India). I took the paper cup, suddenly the guy came running down and started cursing that I am wasting the paper cup? I asked who the paper cups are for. The answer comes as �others�. This is not a one off incident, be it Air India, Temple, Restaurants, it�s the same thing. Indians have such an inferiority complex and they are just freaking jealous of every other country man.
On the other hand, Indians have 0 people skills and have no clue how to act on a public place or do they have any concern for others. I took my son for Kumon yesterday. As in any Kumon, majority is Indians, the hot topics yesterday was politics, dinner and how work sucks. They were discussing this so loud inside the establishment. Kids were trying to work and there they were arguing, laughing, it�s just pathetic.
So, what I am trying to say is, if you are trying to take this fight with Indian Consulate, is it really a one off thing�..

I don't know how to start a new post so place here....
I was working on a H1B.
Husband - who is the premary person applied for Green card. When his priority date was current he applied for I-485 for both of us.
After getting my EAD I started working on EAD for 1 month and got the paystubs for past one month. Now looking for new job.
Which status Am I - H1B or EAD...:confused:
Now If I am on EAD can I take a break for 3 months before the next job offer.

Once you start working on EAD you are no more on H1B. Your future employer can apply for H1B for you. Your previous H1B is automatically 'abandoned' as you used EAD

Well, it's time to break the news.:p I didn't attend the rally because
(1) the first and foremost reason: a recent surgey at my backbone , and I may not be able to walk for more than 15 minutes continuously.
(2) the second and honest opinion: Even If I were doing well, I wouldn't have attended the rally due to the yelling-nature of words from some of the Core leaders, and their pushy messages.
(3) the third and final point: The rally pictures and the rally experience of other members have impressed me very much and have totally changed my mind. So, next time, whereever you organize the rally, I will be there.:p
This is my honest opinion about my abscence. I hope noone will jump on me for my reasoning.

It takes different things to motivate different people, which is why I am looking for real feedback to improve moving forward. I'm sure you understand, politely asking once or twice many not get through the flurry of daily posts that happen on this board :)
